This is one of several of our projects for Flinders Christian Community College (FCCC).This building is known as M Block at the Carrum Downs campus and is proudly their new School of Music building.
This two storey building comprises over 20 varying sized rooms to cater for single or group practice, and includes a drum room and recording studio. There is also a student breakout room and standard classrooms, a central student bathroom, staff room with kitchenette, a lift to assist students carrying large instruments from one floor to the next, and an inviting reception area upon entry. Completing this state of the art Music building is the large concert practice room fitted with an Atkar acoustic ceiling standing at 8m high.
Additionally, selected rooms were fitted with acoustic treated glass to limit sound travel, the entire building has been constructed using thermacell block technology; recognised in the building industry for its strength, insulation properties and acoustic benefits, and sensor lights and air conditioning are fitted throughout.
This project had no OH&S issues, which is always of the utmost importance, but even more so when working within the grounds of a school. It was completed to schedule, in time for school holidays, allowing a sufficient window for FCCC to set the building up for the return of students post holidays.
We found Cellstruct well versed and compliant with the particular requirements associated with working within an operating school environment. Their performance, professionalism & efficiency was impressive and we will definitely consider them for future projects – Peter Cutting, Manager Special Projects
