Richmond Wheel & Castors needed to improve their warehousing facility to cater for their expanding business. CBG turned vacant land at the rear of the existing manufacturing and warehousing facility into new warehouse and hardstand concrete despatch and loading areas
The project included;-
CBG provided their construction flexibility and their in house Engineering knowledge to get over construction problems that included poor ground conditions, wet weather that caused site inundation and adjustments to include mobility access and amenity issues that were not available in the original buildings. Engineering resolve included suspending the warehouse floor slab on screw piles so as to achieve a stable floor system that would achieve “flat floor” criteria for the operation of the wire guided fork selection system with no concrete cracking. Cathodic protection was provided to the steel shafts on the screw piles.
A key requirement in the project was to keep RWC in operation while the facility was completed.
