This 4 unit development was on a corner site, which is usually a bonus for construction, but the narrow nature of this block running a decent length along the footpath added some complexity throughout the construction process. Nonetheless, the CBG team did an amazing job to complete the project on schedule.
Externally, the building is a show stopper. The architectural design was very clever to blend the retro feel of the original building with the sleekness of the new. Stunning round edge balconies and the contrast of the red brick against the render is style personified.
The original building was an old Milkbar at the front corner, with a small dwelling above, and a courtyard area with shed out back. It also had a Telstra Communications point on top which had to be maintained and required 24hr access during construction. It was quite a feat to manage the relationship with Telstra throughout.
Internally the building is made up of 4 units consisting of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, large open plan kitchen/living/meals area, spacious balconies and single car garage. Tiled floors throughout the main living areas, with stone benchtops, timber staircases and ample natural lighting, all in keeping with the fresh, modern feel of any good new home.
